In The month of ashwina on the vijayadashami day, for the celebration of seemollanghan, the goddess palkhi is taken to the vetaaleshwara temple in the evening. The palkhis of three deities meet at this place namely Shree Shantadurga Shankhawaleshwari, Shree Laxmi Narasinha and Shree Vetaaleshwara. The priests of the respective temples offer puja to the palkhis and the gathering is worth seeing.


In the temple of Shree Shankwaleshwari from the ashwina shukla pratipada till navami chandi-paath is recited and on navami havan or homa is organized. This is followed by the ritual of puja of tarangas of two deities Shree Dandapani and Shree Grampurusha.

On ashwina shukla navami three persons perform the oracle ceremonies. The first oracle gets the spirit of padiyar purusha and according to the tradition is only from a Gowd Saraswat Brahmin of the Padiyar surname. The second oracle is a Brahmin from Kinnar Karwar and gets the spirit of Govind Purushas. The third is of Aadisingh Purusha who comes to a BRAHMIN ORACLE FROM Bhatkal who is from the priest community.
